Question beachfishing in france ?

Hi all going to be in france on normandy coast next week
can you fish french beaches same as ours I:e for free
or do you need licence there (cant see french having one though)
as would love to get some fish back from the french

knowing the french even if your supposed to they won't bother, never heard of them worrying about that sort of thing in the past.They just seem to do what they want and sod the rest.

lol the skipper that we go out with told us that wen they go over to france to dock or wotever if they have any conger eels the french love to buy them and eat them

I have a book that gives conger 3 *s which is the same as cod, bass and bream. So why do we usually put em back? (or don't we?)

we keep the odd one Bruce barbies his and reckons their great, he also curries them. they have a stronger flavour than most fish but the flesh is very white and huge flakes good eating all round.
