| Minnis Last Night i fished minnis bay last night over low water from the rocks, after some smuts. i thought that they were gonna be running through there in good numbers like last year. i was fishing straight out from the paddling pool, wading out to my chest a smacking a big crab bait out. the first 2 hours went by without so much as a bite. then on dead low water i caught a eel about 1 1/2 pound, not what i really wanted but at least i didn't blank. then another hour went past without a bite, so i started to pack up for an early bath. then my line went all slack, i took up the slack and a thud thud came back to me. i lent into what felt solid, i thought it might have even beeen a ray at that point. i kept pumping the heavy weight in til about 20 yards out, it decided it wanted to go to see reculver. it scrapped like hell in the shallow water, thats when i knew it was a houind. i eventually got a lovely starry smoothy out of the water, it was unhooked and set the scales on exactly 8lb. it was really good seeing it recover in my hands, swim round me in a cirle and then bolt of out to sea again. i did try one more cast but nothing at all so i called it a night.     |

| Re: Minnis Last Night you don't really wanna be wading on that chalk with a busted ankle. have to meet another time. no pics i'm afraid as i couldn't leave the fish to trash about on the chalk/ rocks when taking a picy. |
