Stingray motored out of Portsmouth last saturday with a crew of four, flat calm sea and dawn just breaking, our first wreck
twenty miles out produced nothing so we headed south for seven miles to the second called the Yale, its one "tackle hungry"
wreck but produced a few small pollock.

So with Ray telling us "we're off" we headed out for another twelve miles, fishing was slow as the pollock didn't want to play
no matter what lure drop into the depths. With half a dozen pollock in the box and slack water approaching it was decided
to "play with the eels" macci were scarce but we got enough for the four of us.

Tackle used, Ray and Darren on twenty lb rods Lenny and I on uptiders (fish downtide) We've got to be mad, light gear and
two hundred foot of water but.......

After a hectic hour twelve eels had been boated and released.
Great fun but your arms ache a bit, so in with the hook and onwards, again the fish didn't want to play, move on again.....
and Fish! not loads but fish all the same, Lenny with his first bass this year,

and not to be out done me with bass and cod.

It was a really great days fishing, bass, cod, macci, pollock and eels between 40 and 50lb
