| hopesnose and beyond! well my evening was planned i wanted to catch mackeral garfish and pollock with possibles being bass and mullet we headed down hopes nose got down to the bottom to be greeted by huge rafts of weed!!! floating around in the current i set up on a spinner and after battling off tons of weed managed a mackeral!! yay 1.5points. the weed was really bugging us and so i went off for a walk in search of the mullet sprinkled bread into various gulleys were i have caught them from in the past but never saw a fish so walked back to were i was fishing to find my mate kev stretched out in the sun drinking a cup of tea! after a short discussion we decided it was time to move on as the weed was just to much to handle and we packed up and walked the scenic route back up the cliff! (my goodness was i puffed out when i got to the top) jumped in the van and headed off towards meadfoot beach.. we saw several anglers on the beach none of which seemed to be catching anything so we opted to park on daddyhole plain so we could look down into thunderhole with the option of fishing it if there was nobody there. well there was nobody there but kev remembered i had shown him a venue nearby down a steep cliff that we had never fished and so we opted to climb down there! i slipped on my bum about a dozen times going down (its a steep decent through undergrowth) got to the bottom setup spinners and float managed a mackeral each and then nothing ![]() (by now its nearing 9pm and kev had arranged to meet his sister by 9:15!) so we packed up clambered up this cliff (it really aint for the faint hearted) and went and met his sister we sorted out her car trouble got her going and headed off on our way home when i noticed some seagulls working on the beach, kev suggested we stop and have a look and sure enough there was fish moving (in very shallow water) so we both setup on small dexters and set to work finding out what these fish were i hooked one then almost exactly the same time kev hooked one! we got them into the shore to find out they were very small school bass we managed 3 or 4 each in the rapidly dropping tide (sorry no picture of these as was getting dark and camera on my phone is rubbish in the dark) then packed up and came home so all in all we fished 3 different venues and caught fish at each venue!! im off out again in the morning and again tomorrow evening hopefully to find some more points! and get a photo of the bass! __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think! | Recon you earned a few points for effort Dave, well done. Don't like the look of that cliff, I struggle just climbing up the beach at Chesil. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |
