| Blanked Again! Fished 2 hours either side of high tide from the seawall at Goldcliffe (nr Newport on the Severn Estuary). It was certainly rough there especially with the bore coming in. Supposed to be a lot of sole about at the moment, got a few bites although spotting them in the tide and wind was tricky. Followed previous advice and didn't strike. Twice reeled in and twice lost them at the bottom of the sea wall, also lost 3 rigs in the rocks at the base of the wall. Ended with no grip leads which was a waste of time, casting out about 60m and with 5 minutes the line was only about 10m out. Still, it was an evening out and some fresh air. Hopefully down to Challaborough for the first time this weekend and try my new fly rod out on the bass and macky. :)     |

| Re: Blanked Again! Surprised you don't fish there, must be the closest sea fishing to you. There are apparently a lot of strap conger and ray about too. Someone also told me there are loads of bass at one particular point at the mouth of the River Usk but I'm a bit sceptical about that. Ben, I don't intend getting used to it. I'm going to start catching soon.  |

| Re: Blanked Again! i keep on getting told there are ltos of fish around my way but i never see any of em, bass being caught, sole at night (aparently quite large 1s on crab/rag baits) large flatties etc.... __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |
