i fished magazine lane a really early tide, up at 4.00 am, first line in at 04.50, i was using three rods two with rag and squid as bait one with a portsmouth rig, and one with a flapper, the other rod a small whiting hoping for a bass on a running ledger about 10yds out, the whiting and pout where there right from the start, the pout where bigger than usual biggest must have been at least a pound , lots of small whiting and three channel whiting whichi am having for tea tonight high tide was at 07.15 and the bites slowed down to 5-10 minutes between bites, no bass on the live bait, one rig cut off must have been a spider crab which is unusual cos they don't normally come in that close, packed in at 09.30 time to go home, for breakfast and a warm (the flapper rig out fished the portsmouth 3-1)
