west bexington 4/12/5

well i went to try for something big at chesil this eve (as havnt been out for 2 weeks properly and was very twichy)
after recent stormy weather winds dropped so woth a chance i thought
headed off about 4 in pouring rain(why I thought to myself) stopped arround charmouth and was dry after Great!!

got there about 5 too find 1/2 the carpark washed away in recent storms
beach was busy but set up just to the left, good swell but not too bad with staedy westely/south westerly breeze, medium high tide at 8.30pm
sent out 1 rod quickly with a single pulley size 1/0 with rag on and 1 with pennel size 2/0 with squid and frozen black lug

within 10 minutes have landed a good size whiting (on the rag)and the worlds smallest doggie (on the squid), great I thought this will be a good session
well that was it till an hour after high and i caught another puppy
tried hard with loads of bait combinations and ranges, but others who I spoke too had either blanked or had similar poor results
weed had also been a problem up till high then stopped

sofished on till 10.15 then packed up under beautiful clear sky and even with the poor result I guess I will be back over the winter
It was good to get out

At least you caught something Dave, there have been a lot of blanks on the Bristol marks of late.

There's always a next time mate....... and probably a few good pubs on the way back...hehe
