 Chesil, last night 30th Nov Got talking to Geejayy on the forum & we decided that as we both lived in the same area, that we would meet up to fish. It was a tossup between Magazine lane or Chesil & we eventually decided to give chesil a go last night. Geejayy picked me up around 4.30pm & we arrived at the Portland end of chesil about 6pm. Parked in the masonic lodge carpark & took a look at the beach. The conditions looked ideal so we gave it a go. We had not been there long when Geejayy had a cracking bite that nearly took his rod in. After a long & spirited fight, the culprit emerged out of the darkness. A massive lump of wood that was equal to about 50% of the Brazilian rainforrest. Geejayy went down the beach to try to retrieve his gear & soon discovered that when on Chesil shingle, you cannot outrun the local waves.  Fished on until 2am & tried a variety of baits, squid, mackerel, rag, sandeel, & lug + a variety of cocktails. Result a couple of half hearted knocks but no fish for either of us. Just wet feet for Geejayy. Oh & it rained too!!!  Two trips to Chesil & two blanks, at least this time I had some good company.
