Smile magazine lane/ goatie beach

i have just had the last two weeks off work, and managed too get a few sessions in, last week i had three sessions at mag lane, and this week one at mag lane, and one at goatie beach. Magazine lane i had three daytime sessions and one night time session, and if anything i founds the daytime sessions better , the start of the week were the best tides, dropping towards the end of the week, i used rag mackerel and squid, with one rod out in the channel, and a carp rod close in i found that rag tipped with mackerel was the best cocktail, i had countless rigs chopped up by spider crabs in the channel , and had to drag a few in, it was a pin whiting every cast or stripped off, i had two channel whiting on different days, one at high tide and one three hours on the way down, i also had half a dozen doggies, one flounder about six inches and the usual pout, i wasn't going too go anymore cos the tides were really low, but when you got the urge you just have to go , i heard about a place called goatie beach, and pm'd paul alias planktonboy for directions which he sent, thank you paul, as luck would have it the misses had a little sniffle, and then gave it too me (full blown man flu ) but i was going anyway, i popped into poindegstres on the way for some rag and mack, and the rag was very small and not very good, i found goatie beach, it was not too far of a walk there was nobody else there, so i didn't know where to fish so i took pot luck, i fished for four hours, i had one schoolie bass, one whiting and seven pout and also lots of bites which i missed , i am not saying it was cold but my mobile froze!! and i had too put it in my jacker too warm up before i could use it, still it's sods law going back too work on monday and feel as rough as a badgers armpit!!

Re: magazine lane/ goatie beach

no i didn't get any flatties mate, i wasn't sure if i was at the right place, i went about 100yds past the park, there was absolutely no rubbish about from other fisherman which is unusual to give me a clue on where to fish. when i got there, there was like a big bay further on which looked as though i would have had too wait a long time for the tide to come up, so i fished on the corner into the channel
