| Re: big bass Interesting comment Viper525, and true. Pity to end the life of a fish of 15 years +, I agree. I believe in preserving our fish and agree with the rules on size, etc, but am open to discussion on the rights and wrongs of taking fish for personal consumption. Where do you stand on Mackerel for example. Is it OK to fish for them for bait or for eating? I saw one post about returning them once you have enough (why keep fishing if you have enough already), and that would tell me that there is a feeling that the sacrefice of a certain number is acceptable. I'd like to know where others stand on this issue... any views? Personally, I think it's OK to take fish for personal consumption, better than trawler caught fish and better than fishing for commercial gain. I could be persuaded otherwise if the argument is good enough. |
