Have a good time mate. Devon Dave, Simon Torbay Fishing and Wellyfish, plus a host of other Devonians can give you some excellent info for down there

Re: grockle'ing Wellyfish is the local spinning expert. I have been spinning off Brixham Breakwater and Berry Head but I know Kev fishes a lot of rock marks in the area that I've never been to. I'll probably be fishing at Berry Head one evening next week as I'll be on holiday in that part of the world too.

Re: grockle'ing I would join you guys, although I'm still a novice, I live locally and have had limited success, albeit with mackeral, pollack and wrasse. Unfortunately the wife has decided she wants to move closer to her parents, so I'm being dragged out of Torbay, to live in Seaton, near Lyme Regis. I just hope the fishing there is reasonable, although not many people post about that region. A nice place for you guys to try is down near Broadsands Beach. If you look on Torbayfishing.com run by Simon Day, he has great information about all of the marks in Torbay, including this one. Best fished either side of high tide, it is a rock mark, that about 40 yards out turns to sand. Use Dexters and similar lures for mackeral and pollack, and float fished rag for wrasse. Hope this helps, main thing is to get down here, relax and enjoy yourselves. Good luck, Darren

Re: grockle'ing No, Broadsands is further south in the bay. If you drive on the coast road (Dartmouth Road) from Paignton town centre towards Brixham, you come to Churston, signified by the parade of shops with Squires fish restaurant on the corner. Turn left there and follow it all the way down. I would advise parking in the car park, rather than risking the double yellows, as it is NCP parking wardens who manage the parking now, not the plod, and they are definately on quota's. Basically, go off to the right of the beach, and just keep walking. Through a gate and along the headland towards Brixham. I fish off the rocks along there. It is a nice place, which does not get busy, and fishes well on occasions. I should imagine you would get bass there dawn or dusk, although i haven't had any. I have just found out, as I'm typing that my completion date has been put back to 9th Aug, so I'm a bay man for a couple more weeks. Even better, Wife is off to in laws Darren
