pagham last night

[Ben]

well me, bill, dave (pingu), rob and luke(fishing bonsia) fished pagham last night outside the yatch club
we all got there at about 5ish, it all started off very quiet but then a masive shaol of mackerel started running up and down the beach about 5yrds out, this was good fun for a while but i was after bigger things (my 1st shore caught mackerel though )

dave has a small schoal bass shortly after this which was returned safely
a little while later i had a realy good bite, the rod was jumping all over the place, dead chuffed, it was a nice bream weighing 1/2lb caught on a 3/0 hook and a large rag worm bait in close

dave then had a little bream but it put up the best fight i have seen in along time

mackerel were still about but i think ever1 had got boared of them and were after bigger and better things
by this point both me and bill had got 1 good smoothy bite but missed both of them, mine was of hermit and squid and bills was on peeler
i was busy talking to dave and rob when bill shouted i had another bite, a very viciouse bite, i thought it was a smoothy or maybe a bass but it turned out to be a nice 1 1/4lb black bream

pritty happy about that, darkness was almost on us now when bill had a cracking smoothy bite!, took his whole rod stand over and towards the sea, i wasnt sure if he was gonna land it because bother rods were tangled together and it was a right mess! thankfully he did and it turned out to be a nice 5lb starry smoothound pics to follow
it was surprisingly quiet after this, the only other fish caught was a small smoothound (under 1lb) caught by me and that was it i think
every1 seemed to have enjoyed them selfs but its just a shame that no1 else got the smoothy they had come to get, o well, maybe next time
final tally between us was;
2 smoothounds,
3 black bream,
1 schoal bass,
lots of mackerel

Excellent report mate . I had to settle for my mackerel, but it was great seeing Ben and Bill land their smuts. I'm not too bothered about not getting one, as it was a great social night which makes up for it! Hats off to Ben for getting the lovely bream, cracking fish. Can't wait for the next meet lads

Thanks Pingu Rob Luke and Ben for coming it was a very enjoyable night and great to have a chat,It was a shame there wasnt a few more smuts to go round
but maybe next time which i hope is soon.

Great report Ben... and well done on those Black Bream, they look yummy! Not to mention twice the size of any I've ever caught in the past.

Really must give Pagham a try, it looks well worth the drive.. You boys are getting some great fishing at the moment!!
