Re: COME ON!!!! Got a BASS!

WELL DONE ON CATCHING SOME GREAT FISH BUT!!!! FISHING FOR BASS FROM A BOAT IN THE TEIGN IS "" ILEGAL"" HEFTY FINES AND CONFISCATION OF GEAR. THE TEIGN ALONG WITH A LOT OF OTHER RIVERS ARE CLASSED AS BASS NURSERIES THE TEIGN IS FROM A LINE BETWEEN THE TWO LIGHTHOUSES (TEIGNMOUTH POINT TO SHALDON) UP RIVER FROM THIS LINE IS NO BASS FISHING FROM A BOAT. THESE RULES CAN BE FOUND ON THE DEFRA WEBSITE. HOWEVER THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS FISHING FROM THE SHORE EXCEPT THE MINIMUM SIZE WHICH IS 36CM THE NFSA MIN SIZE IS 410CM. CONSERVATION WISE ITS BETTER TO KEEP TO THE UPPER LIMIT AND ONLY KILL THE FISH YOU NEED YOURSELF. SEELING THE FISH WITHOUT A COMMERCIAL LICENCE IS ALSO ILEGAL WITH HEFTY FINES ETC IF YOU GET CAUGHT. ANY WAY THATS THE NASTY STUUFF OUT OF THE WAY ENJOY YOURSELF CATCH SOME GREAT BASS TRY FREELINING WITH LIVE SANDEELS. HOPE TO MEET UP SOMETIME.

I haven't had the chance yet to try one of these out for myself but these floats are supposed to be great for casting. To check out the Ragot Floating Ballreg Inline go to http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/acat...ea_Floats.html
and scroll down. They come in two weights - 30g & 40g. I think you can get two of the same weight for the price of one at the moment or alternatively check out the Ragot Bulrag http://www.harris-sportsmail.com/pro...=13058&deptid= They are available in 30g, 40g, 55g, 60g, & 80g weights. Maybe some of the other forum members have some personal experience of them. Also both Rapala and Yo-zuri manufacture heavier lures for casting - the Yo-zuri Mag-minnows are supposed to be pretty good. I've just picked up a couple of them but haven't had a chance to take them for a swim yet. Here's a review of them Yo-ziuri Mag-minnow If your having trouble getting snagged on weeds they also make a popper version.
