Re: Brixham Breakwater Not sure if the conger are feeding well just yet but the fishing during the day should be good. Best spot at the moment seems to be the very end of the breakwater or close to it. __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more!

Re: Brixham Breakwater Had my first fishing trip of my "renewal" of my fishing passion. basically, the mackerel are there in their thousands it seems. There were loads of times that you could see sprats foaming up the surface as the mackerel were chasing them upwards. I never tried fishing for anything else, but got about 16 mackerel (being selective too - threw as many back in the water again...) and had one absolute beauty - reckon it was close to 1lb. Going fishing today on the speedboat - conditions look very calm out at sea so hoping for some pollack using the redgills on the 10' trace setup I have. Maybe try some bottom fishing, but will most likely just drift and spin. ![]()

A the very end of the breakwater there are some steps on the inside, these steps have produced many good wrass for me allready this year. when i went down to day i had a couple of wrass, a tom pot, anda bull head(u know think wif massive spines either side of its gills). Float fishing is the best option here and it fishes well from low tide to high and when the sun is setting you also catch a load of pollock. High tide is at 12:15. Also spinning either side will produce mackrell, and polock at sun set and in to the evening, And as for conger some people were fishing for them the other day and they said there had been one or two caught. HOPE THIS HELPS POPLO ![]() __________________ One day, possibly some day soon ill catch that big Bass, and when i do ill cook it for all but you.

Re: Brixham Breakwater I took my little nephew fishing today down at brixham breakwater. I set up his rod on feathers and then he droped a bomb "I CANT CAST" I then spent 30 mins teaching him to cast which was a good laugh. After 2 lost rigs i reeled in three makkie. One i kept for bait and the other two went back in. I then st his rod up on float and he was happy to look every where appart from his float which disaperaed a number of time lol. The sun didnt know what it wanted to do. My nephew enjoyed him self and wants to go again. We ended the day taking home 10 makkie and putting back double that which i am proud of. They tasted nice on the barbie. tj __________________ Big or Small ill catch them all!!!
