| Cod alive and kicking ........ Fished our local mark last night but a little further up the coast towards the bridge - aiming for some bass and maybe a ray. Fished low water and two hours up - had knock immediately but the blighters got away. Anyway eventually my old man brings in a nice silver eel - his first ever and so ended his blank run of 4 sessions. Next I looked round and saw one hell of a knock on his rod - needless to say he didnt believe it as he was looking elsewhere but as he stared the rod tip flew back up and just came to rest. Well looked like the obvious to me and bugger me if my old man didnt bring in his best ever codling at about 2. 5 LB. I was well happy for the old man and wasnt worried about a blank meself but then finished with the last cast of the day - knock knock and another codling to 2 LB. Unfortunately we had to pack up then but I honestly reckon if we had stayed we could have had a fair few codling all about this size as bites were pretty consistent - all caught on rag. Strange cause I thought cod had gone by now and it was the upper end of the channel !!  __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !     |
