like the title says..."isnt it great when a plan comes together!!!"......
as you know, i love wrasse fishing and so me and POPLO went to brixham breakwater to see if they had sarted to filter in to the bay after the cold snaps had driven them away!
the plan was to go and do some wrassing by day and then go for some pollock at night.
i especially wanted to spin for pollock because i have never caught one on spinner and i have heard good things about it.

we got there about 4:45 in the afternoon and set up on the end steps (our favourite wrasse hole!

and so the wrasse started to come in thick and fast but not exceedin 1lb, the bigger ones are not back yet!

POPLO managed to land 3 wrasse of 1lb and i got only one.
anyway, as the evening went on the wrasse went to bed and stopped biting and so we decided to spin off the outside and POPLO got a macky of 13oz (not bad after recent macky trips)
i didnt get anything off the outside so i went off the steps again for some pollock and as soon as my spinner hit water, it got ripped across the water in front of me, after a brief struggle i landed a nice 1lb macky!
chuffed with this after the minute ones that have been around lately, i followed up with 3 more of about 1/2lb
i went deeper with hope for a poloock and as i was talking to POPLO, my rod almost got ripped from my hands, after a VERY good fight on the bass rod, i pulled up a real nice pollock which we guessed at 1.5lb-2lb, we had o gues because as i swung it over the steps, it flicked off onto the step below me and then flapped into the water!!!!
well i was going to release it anyway.
after that i got 3 more pollock, all reasonable size, (definitely over 1/2lb)

Score for the day:
POPLO: - innumeral little wrasse
- 3 wrasse 1lb
-1macky 13oz
CHUBB:-innumeral little wrasse
-1 macky 1lb
- 3.5 pollock over 1/2lb ( 3.5 because one just got away after hitting dry land)

no monster fish but all in all, a good days fishing!!!!
