Well I have obviously been a good boy and have gained 2 passes out

Pass 1
Tonight I should be meeting Phill on Budliegh beach and drowning all the leftover bait (think still have about tenners worth)from Sunday hoping for something new too appear

Pass 2

Tommorrow I am going course fishing for the first time in 25 years starting from about 10am till dusk(well as i have too pay extra too fish Iwill use all time available )
So I have dusted off the old milbro float rod, plus I got a ledger rod for birthday and i am heading too Squabmoor(local reservoir), God knows what i will catch but anything will be a point,
hope its not just a cold

well results off my 2 passes
wed eve met fishing mate dave and fished budliegh from 7 till 11
results dave 2 pout me 1 pout and 1 doggie, but did get brother too abu rod so have matching pair now (now for reel )
thurs
went too squabmoor
deep stocked resevoir with shallow end where stream feeds
so this is the end that i set up in


nothing for a while but kept baiting the shallows then the roach started too feed

then got a nice perch

left about 7 had a great day(s) and scored 3 points

only small downer was a couple of carp anglers i met who wondered why i was fishing for ather fish and not carp but i had laugh as i had caught 15-20 fish and they had nowt

Well done Dave. That looks a cracking perch, looks deep hooked too (common with stripeys, did you manage ok with that?) You seem quite a natural "baiting up the shallows" have you done freshwater fishing before?

about 20yrs ago, at least and new no point going deep for them after reading reports on here and books
all roach were on maggot
perch on worm(from my garden )

the carpies were fine really , met loads off others who were casing the joint and they were fine as well including two who were just trying out a bait boat

ah, the old squabmoor- your were fishing at the entrance end then - away from the wall by the looks of it - must catch up with you for a fish sometime, but still i have a season pass to that so i should be going in sunday, will post full report when i get bak :)

Looking at the perch again, it does seem of a good size, did you weight it at all?
