For the first time in what seemed to be an age the wind had dropped to F4 and going down, fishing heaven!
Graeme and I loaded with six boxes of squid and as much food left the marina at 0700, this time wasn't a
sixty mile juant just a short hop around to St Cathrines point, plan was to try for a late cod, we anchored on top of
a bank in fifty feet and fished down to a hundred and twenty, for anybody who doesn't know the area its tackle hungry
but worth the risk as can prouduce good conger bullhuss cod bass and the usual pests.

It was bitterly cold and handling semi frozen squid wasn't a pleasure, within half an hour I had a rod bending bite,
the fight belied the size maybe an 18lb strap, Graeme had a gentle bite fed it line, fish on Cod, no bass and so it was.



after that we had a couple more straps and a small bullhuss or I should say Graeme did, still a good session tho,

decent bass and a few straps is better than a kick in the nuts mate
does look grim out there !

cracking bass coor must have been freezing but knowing you a few pints soon warmed you up
