Dovers Eastern Arm 15th Jaunuary 12

I finaly managed to get out for a few hours of fishing down the arm. It was a strong easterly breeze. HW 1500. I got down there ar 1630. I was on a mission to get a few species for the hunt.

I used 3 rods. 2 beach casters one with a a pulley pennel using whole squid and lug. The other had a size 1/0 2 hook flapper with lug tipped with squid.
I used my bass rod with a size 4 3 hook flapper using mackeral squid and lug.

I got my frozen bait from my local Londis store onCherry tree Avenue, If anyone fishes Dover its well worth a look. It was a bit bare this time but its normally well stocked and they now do rolls of frozen worm and its open till 10pm.

As I was setting up The Dover Harbour Board tugs pulled a Reefer up in to the bay, I thought it would make a good pic.

Finnaly set up.

I was on my own so thought I would post my catches live using the shout facility on the forum via my mobile phone.

My first fish of 2012 were a Dab and a pouting on the 2 hk flapper.
I managed quite a few whiting and pouting, 2 Dogfish and 2 Dabs in the end.
I diddnt get a lunker on the pennel. I never do but got to try!

Nothing too exciting. Nice to get out and do a bit though.

Im back to work for 3 weeks on Wednesday so that will be my only report this month.

well done on getting out and londis agood emergency bait shop worth remebering

Nice sesh Jason, looks a bit cramped for space on the eastern arm or is it just my eyes?? Defonately gonna have to remember that Londis shop for bait, the amount of times I miss the bait shop by ten mins cos of traffic is unreal!!! What they like for prices??

Hi Joe,
I think you can just make out the prices on the wall in the pic!
Its very reasonable. The squid is £4 for a kilo, £2.25/lb or a pack of dirty for £1.99
