Had a family trip to Dover today which nearly didn't happen as 1 brother had to work and another had to buy a new telly cos he b*ggered up his old 1 , so I had a quiet drive to Dover on my own.
Got on the pier at 8,30 and it was empty so had the prime spot at the end by the Cafe put out a beachcaster with a whole squid on and the dabbler down the wall for the small stuff and didnt get a bite for 2 hours ::) but as the tide started to run the dabbling rod had a little rattle which I left and when I checked the bait I had this:


And then the whiting found the Squid had 6 in 6 casts so change to Sandeel and found this:


Once I had the doggy I swapp the pennal rig for a 2 hook flapper trying for some Dabs for a meal but they were all to small but I did manage to get my 3rd species for the day:


When I started tipping the worm with Sandeel instead of Squid I stated getting doggies on the flapper along with the normal whiting.

As I could see some small fry in the water I put the dabbling rod close to the wall about 3ft down and had species No 5 for the day:
