| Fourth time lucky ? After having a load of crab left over from team dilligafs visit to abbotsbury and a call from a mate this morning who said he was up for some flounder bashing I decided to get out of bed and sort my light gear out... Get the crab out the fridge load it into the car and make my way to exeter to pick up my mate and then onto the river exe for the day..... 20 mins after receiving the first call I get another.... "Sorry mate, I forgot that I had to see the dentist this afternoon' is what I was told so the trip to the river exe was cancelled until tomorrow.... Seeing as all my gear (or at least I thought it was )was now in the car I decided to pop down the the river teign and try to fish off of polly steps. After I had set up my tripod. Sorted out my rods I went to get my rigs from my bag.... The bag that I had left at home, So I pack up my rods and tripod, Back in the car and drive back the 10 mins to home.... After driving back and faffing around with the rods and tripod I was finally set up around half hour after low tide. Crab baits were loaded onto simple running ledgers and the first cast was made.... 30 mins later I saw a bite on my rod, Left it for 5 mins before reeling in and on the end was this nice little flounder :) .. My first in 4 attempts :) ![]() It was a warm nice day with little wind so decided to fish until high tide at 7pm but the first cast curse had struck and no more fish were landed. Was a very chilled out day fishing from my car and didnt really want to leave but had to save some crab for tomorrows rearranged trip to the river exe :) ![]() ![]() __________________ http://www.rjwpt.co.uk/ |
