Thats NOT a flounder !!!!

well a mid afternoon shout from rich yesterday and wednesday nights plans became tuesday night plans, grabbed some bait being 30 lug and couple quid rag and floundering we were a going

sort of messed up the tide though as no water at lympstone as low at 8 and also rain grr

so back to exmouth front , but this time as far left towards orcombe as could go

fairly calm and no wind, just rain so light bas rods it is

baits out and on retrieving first rod, line goes PING , oops realise tip rings knackered so 1 rod down

other rod is 3 hook flapper with bling and size 1's

few whiting showing then a good bite , and start winding down when fish goes mental..err flounder dont usually do that.."rich think i may have a bass!! " was my call. as at last i actually see my bass rod bent properly

few heartstopping lunges later and this wee fellow hits the beach and parts the hook at the same time

5Lb on the nose, best fish of the year( only keeper) and mega chuffed, as thats xmas dinner starter sorted

well we fished on till nearly midnight for plenty of whiting and weed, 1 more good bass hit but no fish attatched and again No flounder

what a great way to possibly finish the year , or dare i ask for a pass later
