| Xmas Flounder Festival Fished the flounder charity comp today (all proceeds going to the RNLI) with roughly 100 or so other anglers trying to fluke a flounder out of the river teign and win the xmas hamper prizes on offer at the RNLI station... Sent a text to my mate to make sure he had sorted bait last night, Yes was the reply and he also said to not bother taking any food as he had robbed some from a party that he was at earlier.. So the morning arrived and down for the sign on at 7:30, Then off to our mark up the teign a quick ten mins drive away. The cars were unloaded and the last thing to come out was the fine dining plater of food that was taken from the party last night.... Alot better than the chicken wings and sausage rolls I was expecting !  So the quick walk to our mark as the tide was flooding and we knew that when high tide came we would be cut off for a few hours and would not be able to get back to our cars.   The fishing was slow pretty much all day and when the heavens opened with a hailstorm we knew it wasn't going to be our day as 3 of us were fishing and none of us had a knock. The weigh in was at 15:15 so we packed up and made our way back to see what had been caught. We had heard rumours of a 2lb 15oz flounder being caught but as none of us had caught anything to weigh in we couldn't be arsed to wait around for the raffle prizes to finish being dished out we decided to call it quits and go home.....
