| Missed the target species but had a good afternoon at Erith, had about 30 whiting and a Flatty  About 4.00 the wind dropped to a gentle breeze , the sun was just going down and the lights on the pier came on so I thought Photo:  Will have to have another go for the Smelt. __________________ Species 2011 = 54 2010 = 44 2008 = 29 2007 = 51 2006 = 44 2007 = 37 2004 = 36 LIFETIME = 70     |

| Re: Missed Nice flattie Dick. In your photo, the rods are out towards the shore side, but I take it you normally try both sides? I've seldom had luck fishing back towards the shore - I've had better results casting out into the river. But there again, I've only fished the pier a dozen times at most. Kind regards to you. | Re: Missed I normally fish from low tide up so fish the outside until there is enough water on the inside to bring 1 rod over but a large boat came and moored on the pier as soon as there was enough water for it to get in so I had both rods on the inside but it didn't make any difference as the whiting were everywhere  __________________ Species 2011 = 54 2010 = 44 2008 = 29 2007 = 51 2006 = 44 2007 = 37 2004 = 36 LIFETIME = 70 |
