| Summer Sunday! Thought i,d made a right blunder today when i got to a wee mark round from Land's End trying to get out the wind and swell, completely forgot how big the tides were doh! Vey little water close in and with the big tides a fair old swell running, sunshine was very pleasant and almost out the wind so decided to hang around take a few pics and wait for the tide to push a bit.   Gave it an hour or so and tried a few plugs on the inside of the cove but that was proving a bit difficult due to the swell and having to stay up high. Had a couple of floats and a few sandeel with me so that was the next option, tried for another hour with no joy then the float dipped out of sight and after a very enjoyable fight on the light gear landed a Bass of 1lb 8oz (Monday's dinner).  Next two fish were a very welcome surprise, best one was just short of a pound.  And just as dusk was falling the pollack came out to play, kept a couple of those best was just under the the 2lb mark.  Turned out okay in the end with a few fish to take home and some very welcome sunshine. | Re: Summer Sunday! Huge swell churns up with the tide race there Mike, that's the Runnelstone bhoy! Could see the Lizard to my left and the Wolf Rock lighthouse to my right which are both a long way off but today was mostly one eye on the swell. | Re: Summer Sunday! I have caught Huss on Ammo but fresh or fresh frozen (not to long in the freezer) has been far better on our huss marks. Not had much success on rockling caught more eels on small pollack and garfish which is surprising as there's loads of rockling around our conger marks. Stinky refrozen squid is pretty good on the eels too.
