2 Days fishing

Fished Erith yesterday to use up the bait that was left over from TQ and was into small Whiting as soon as the bait hit the bottom , had a Flounder for a change of species then my brother came walking down the pier grinning like a Cheshire cat and as I could smell the Cucumber on the wind so I knew what he had caught


Today we went to POW pier Dover to try for another winter species (which we didnt get) but managed to catch 6 Mackeral and about a dozen Herrings in amongst the more normal winter species.

Tried using fish bait on one rod cast away from the wall hoping for a doggie but all that produced was Whiting and a keeper Bass ;D. We ended up with 12 species half Summer and half winter so as I needed the heater on in the car we decided it was the first of our winter trips.
We could not leave any bait laying around because these little Waders (not sure what type) where clearing everything up as soon as your back was turned , they were very partial to the raw Prawns you get from Morrisons

Nice mixed bag of fish zonnkers well done. The frozen supermarket prawns have saved me from blanking a couple of times, rockling and pollack seem quite partial to them.

One of the other anglers was saying that there was a match on the Pier a couple of weeks ago and the winner weighed in 3 Gars which is even more bizarre.
Mind you the Herrings I caught were very small so that is probably what the mackeral are feeding on.
