the holiday report.

it didn't start well with the car packing up about a week before we left.

the little fragment of scrap sat on top the rocker box is a bit of the crankcase and although only a small bit, that, and whatever mayhem occurred in the bottom end of the motor has prettymuch rendered it all scrap.

a swift gather of funds and a few favors called for, a search of the web and secured was another older, purple, petrol guzzleing galaxy 7 seater, 7 seats because my 5 + Ashleys woman were all tagging along but then they changed their mind and ash & his missus stayed home to watch the pets and party. so the mpv wern't really needed at the finnish. extra space was handy though.

after arriveing, unpacking and sourceing vital info from reception - where's the beach?
myself and Ronnie set off on a reccy, 1/2 an hour down that track we were told, but it will take a damn sight longer to walk back up,
at the bottom we found ourselves at talland bay

a small cove with a bit of beach , the beach was burried in weed but there was a handy rock for me to fish off when the waves settled down a bit but it would be a bit much for ronnie with his poor eyesight, maybe an afternoon on the beach if the weed clears.

we went shopping the next day /swimming etc as the rain had started and the wind got up. no better the following day so we spent the evening in the club where i tryed to get drunk,- failed.

sulked for a bit before going to charlestown to see the shipwreck museum- thoroughly recomended, took no rods because it was blowing an absolute hooley had to look at the harbour though.

the next excursion to the beach envolved a run to the north coast ending up watching surfers as the tide rolled in on fistral beach newquay.

it looked like it might be fun putting a bait out for a we bass but i couldn't be bothered to wait till dark when the surfers might thin out, rons gear couldn't handle those conditions anyway.
so we left for looe sea wall, where we had looked earlier in the week, still lots of weed about, we fished on the wall to the left for a hour and a half or so till the sun set and ron felt uncomfortable, ron caught a crab and i didn't.
which is as far as the fishing went this holiday.

wandered down into polperro harbour where it was lowtide and a shytehawk swiped a lump o fudge from my shocked daughters hand
looked at some interesting rock marks but to rough for ron , & me as well as there was still a steady groundswell and i wasn't going to venture out there.

over 2 years my vw tdi needed brakes allround, driveshaft coupleing, & blew its turbo last year about £2k overall + service consumables.
the turbo is what hurt, but i was likeing the diesel fuel economy.

Re: the holiday report.

Good report and Pics Geejayy!
I use to work on a 50m coaster and run in to the Charstown to load china clay which we used to take to aberdeen, they use it to make news papers feel soft!
I went to that museum, very intresting! Do they still have the tall ships in the harbour there?
Nice one all the best.
Jason
