a great days fishing :)

went up the river today fishing, had ultra light gear, a very light float rod and a small reel with 6lb line
i was fishing a rising tide with ragworm for bait, ledgered on a 2 hook flapper with long traces
i set up around 10ish, the tide was quite low at this point, nothing happened for about 3/4 of an hour, i was starting to give up hope when, tap tap tap boom! but i was too slow, wasnt paying attention and befor i knew it i had lost it in a boat moaring
a quick re bait of a similar rig and cast out to the same place again
nothing
15mins later tap tap tap boom! i was into a fish, smaller this time but still a fish, minutes later i had a nice 1lb bass on the bank which bent my ultra light float rod over double, a new pb bass for me , a quick photo and then safely returned

seconds after casting out there was a small nible happening i thought, left it abit and it carried on, thought it might be a crab so pulled the line tight, i couldnt beleave my luck, another fish, this one felt heavier but wasnt putting up much of a fight, until i got it close to the bank when it starting to scrap abit, got it onto the bank, a nice plump flounder weighing in at just over 1 1/2lb another new pb flounder for me

it had taken the hook deep so it ended up coming home for lunch with me
after that things slowed up over high tide so i came home, heading back there again tomorrow

just gutted the flounder and it was full of little crabs and afew rag worm, maybe mini crabs would be a good bait

i think i have, gonna be good spinning there as well, its great with ultra light tackle as well
even the flounder started taking out line!

1oz, prob could have used less as well
even when the tide was flowing fully
