Torbay wrasse hunt

Hi everyone,
I went fishing with my 3 year old boy today, which lasted 10 minutes before he got bored, so I'm thinking of going wrasse fishing tomorrow down at Elberry Cove, near Broadsands beach as I've got some ragworm to use up.
Any advice on the best time to go, and any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
High water is at about 6.30pm.

Cheers, Darren

Re: Torbay wrasse hunt

Fished about 100 yards to the south of Broadsands Beach from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and had a cracking afternoon. Sea mist was heavy along the coast and it was a bit chilly, but caught half a dozen wrasse on float fished ragworm.
A couple were a reasonable size and gave a good account for themselves on my light gear. The best was just over a foot long and weighed in at 1lb 2oz. Not a monster by anyones standards, except mine as it is a personal best. Can't wait to go again!

Darren

PS Thanks for all the advice. It really helped.

Re: Torbay wrasse hunt

Cheers Guys. Having had such a great time yesterday, I thought I'd give it another go today after the footie. I wasn't disappointed with another good fish of the same size as the previous day. I agree with Chubb on his linked post, on light tackle they are great fun, and seem to feed when nothing else is, like at the moment!!

Going again tomorrow, Darren
