| eaststoke 28/9/11 with things slow at pagham , due to clear and calm . wont to find abit deeper water . so hayling it was . got there around 7.30pm . john was coming down so waited for him . high tide was around 12.30am , was a nice little chop on the water and abit of colour . we started fishing around 8.30pm . i fished a loop rig with lug/dirty squid and lug/crab . the other was a pulley/pennel with lug/dirty squid . both at range . things were slow , john was moaning straight away .............about 2 hours before high , john managed a small smut . 5 minutes later i had the same . then 5 minutes after my recast was sat on my box , when i watched the tip pull down slow then come back and go slack , heart started to beat hard . fish on , felt good . john came over about half way in i said to john this is feeling lick a ray . well blow me it was . 5lb on the nose  result . then it went dead again till just before high tide . when i started to catch pouting . john was not catching and was back to the moaning .............then on the ebb was still getting bites but no fish ? had 3 bites that were good bites . felt like a good fish each time , but came off ? strange . bites started to die off with no fish still , never had so many bites , with out conecting . thinking they might of been bream . john gave up around 2am i stayed till 3am , had a small smut last cast . __________________ 2010 south coast danglers cod meet champ     |

| Re: eaststoke 28/9/11 Well done that man! The spider crabs are down that way with avengence at the mo so that mite have been the bites that you saw with out connecting to anything. Cracking ray tho, well done again! |
