| Re: Bait drowning tomorrow night Sorry its a bit late but went to hayling in the end, dug lug en route, baits used were lug, squid, mackerel sand eel and some rag (which was kindly donated by a guy in the next groyne before he left. To cut a long story short, we had a couple of bites early on and then as the sun went down I caught a lil bass, estimated at just under 1lb on a lug and squid cocktail. Baits were being stripped at distance but not touched close range. Found our later that my mate (who was fishing the pipe ) caught a spider crab so thats prob what was nicking our baits. Weather was perfect, hardly any wind, mild, and a lil chop to the water just a shame the fish didnt want to play. Very plesant evening tho. |
