Depressing dayout..

Fished by the gun at hamble point yesterday from about 12.30 till 7 and caught absolutely nothing. A few bites but they were very small, i expect very small bass. Crabs proved infuriating by devouring baits quicky.
but atleast i wasnt at work! Im looking for a new mark in the southampton /portsmouth /gosport area, any suggestions? Cheers

Re: Depressing dayout..

Chip, I totally agree with Mike; you were fishing and that's infinitely better than a whole lot of other things you might have been doing. I find it interesting that even when I'm on an entirely blank session, my hopes lift for a short while each time I cast out with new bait. Who was it said that fishing is the sport of eternal optimism? (Dunno, might have been my tortoise.)
Don't become disillusioned: the fish you didn't catch today will be bigger when you catch them next time. Kind regards.

what sort of fishing you looking for ? open beaches ? southampton water or the harbours ?
I fish the open beaches mostly as well as town quay when the weather is pants ...
I'm not a fan of Hamble area except when the flounder are about
the whole area is deffo better after dark but the tides are wrong theis week which i why im at home watching Leeds getting stuffed !
