rodney bay last night 7/9/11

last night was the wednesday league
we have been batterered by gale force winds last 2 days and diudnt know weter would be fishable, a quick check tues eve saw good swell and weed on beach but water clear(ish) and forcast was wind to drop wed pm game on

didnt look good wed morning with wind still gusting 30+ but come 7pm all was calm and skies clouded and dry...all looked good
fishing over a neap low at 9.45
7 of us went down to try our luck

si and also jason(ukexeter) popped along to say hi

well out went 2 hook size 2 with bling for flatties and 3/0 pennel with squid/sandeel for bass

weed was there but easily liveable

fished fairly hard and managed a big silver eel guees about 1lb, but as snotted everything up went back before weighed

also an undersized schoolie bass
worm baits were stipped quick by crabs as well

come weigh in others had had flounder and plaice and dogs and only other sizeable fish was kens dog so i shared the pot with him

a cracking eve and lets see what weather does to spoil weekends plans( after fridays hangover )
