Town quay 02/09/2011

hi guys decided to go for a sesh with me old man to show him that town quay can provide a good few hours fishing... luckily we managed to get right on the very end and within 5 mins of my first cast i was in to a little smut, only bout half a pound but its a good start...

my dad followed with a little school bass, then a few pout and a few sole followed.... after it got dark we were getting loads of rod action but couldnt seem to hook anything.... i got a massive bite and this is what i reeled in:



then a few more small sole and pout came along and then my dads rod bent nearly in half and this is what he dragged in:



our bass rods didnt even twitch the whole night...

it was about 4am and we decided to pack up as we were the last there..

so all in all a banging old session and also 4 new species for 2011...

But that Eel is definately a goodun

that dogfish is deffo a dogfish - but the first fish he caught was a smutt pup

ive never fancied the far end - the bass seem to come from up near the ramp in our experience .. nice to see a few pout about tho - might give it a bash this week

they fkn eels are a right pain in the arris

thanks for pointing that out but i already mentioned the little smutt and i have obviously forgotton to put that that was the doggy that i caught lol

hello mate, yeh i know i have only ever had bass bites from the ramp end but hey worth a go.... but was pleased that the pout are back and also there appears to be alot of smutts n doggys about too... and yeah eels are a bit of a nightmare but this was hooked through the bottom lip so came straight out with forceps....
