Why can't I catch a Gurnard? Went over to Chesil on Tuesday evening hoping for some bream and a gurnard or two, as haven't caught one yet. Fished the Adelaide from about 6 till dark. Lots of small bream but no triggers. Caught this Scad while fishing a mackerel bait on the bottom for a Gurnard. Not the species I was hoping for but another for the list! ![]() So, The hunt for a Gurnard continues!! __________________ Cheers CC, 2012 Species - 9

Re: Why can't I catch a Gurnard? Thats because you didn't have your lucky charm (me) fishing with you :-) Don't listen to your wife. Its not true you never catch much when you go fishing with me. Hmm well maybe there is a little truth in that. Lets see what we can do this weekend. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk

Re: Why can't I catch a Gurnard? Chatting to a guy in the lock tuesday waiting to come in, produced an 8 ounce Gurnard he had kept to eat! couldn't quite get my head around keeping such a small fish as I had caught several in the past and they always go back, do remember eating one ages ago and was very surprised that they out did many fish for flavour, incredible eating fish, beautiful succulent tender sweet flavour, not unlike well cooked lobster but a tad sweeter.
