| Re: Southsea/Clarence Pier Hi India Fish, i was on South Parade Pier on Sunday, there were quite a few out, but in my 6 hrs there nothing of much note pulled in. Some guys managed a few bass of reasonable size, 2 or 3lbs plus i'd guess, caught on live bait, small pouting i think, i used rag and mackerel and pulled in a few tiny bream, a small plaice but that was it. I also couldn't believe the mackerel fishing either, there were hundreds of them down there darting all around, but hardly anyone, of all the rods dangling out there, could pull any in, they just didnt want to play! very unusual...... the fish are there, live bait seems to be the best option, drifting it just under the Pier to entice the Bass, but as for me, no luck at all!! I also fished Eastney and Hayling, both very quiet, nothing of note there either, water did seem a bit clear which probably put the Bass off, but i did hear reports of a 10lb Bass being pulled in after dark..... Just seems wherever i go the fish hide away!!!! Enjoy, be interesting to hear how you get on?? |
