| Mudeford Report Hi Folks, I fished out of Mudeford Quay yesterday on "Blackjack". We left the Quay in thick mist, visability 30 - 50yds, at 0700hrs. Thanks to modern day technology, and the crew who kept a visual check, we eventually arrived at our first mark, 30 miles out nearly two hours later. Although there were "fish" showing on the finder none of them were interested in what we had to offer. I personally tried every colour of Storm Shad that I had in my box, plus an enormous selection of jellies, including the now famous "Day Glows". We tried various wrecks all day with nothing to show. During slack water we anchored up and were rewarded with some Conger, the largest about 35lbs.two sizeable ling, Pout and Doggies. We eventually made for home, arriving back in Mudeford at 1700hrs. where we had to take our turn to bearth as there was at least a dozen other craft of all descriptions waiting to be guided through the mist by the RNLI, visability was now down to 20-yds. In all an enjoyable day, although we had no fish to show for our efforts. At least I made some new friends and look forward to meeting them all again sometime in the future. If I may on this occasion borrow Bens signature. "Drews the name - Blanking is my game" Cheers __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold |
