Change of plans

I went to fish Southsea pier today , as I was driving down they said on the radio that South parade was shut , but as I had arrange to meet my brothers there I continue down the A3 (through that loverly new tunnel at Hindhead) when we all met up at the pier we were told by the copper that the whole area was out of bounds so had Brekkie in the Cafe-hut and asked if there was anywhere else we could fish as we had come from London,Oxford and Basingstoke and was told there was a little pier in the old town which you had to go through a wall to get to.

When we found it there were already 2 anglers on the end "Bass fishing" so we set up on the arm and was into Wrasse as soon as the bait hit the bottom.
We ended up having a very good day despite the wind and odd shower
with 7 species including some miniscule Bream and Dragonettes

If you like fish paste thats full of bones then they might be edible but with better tasting and less bony fish in the sea I wouldn't bother trying to eat Wrasse
