| Town Quay friday night 05/08/11 Hey guys.... after much debating (and begging of the girlfriend to let me have the car) i decided to shoot down town quay for the better part of a evening. low tide was due around 9:15ish so thought i would fish a few hours before and a few after just to see if anything was lurking around... The answer was no... not a touch for about 3 hours.... i got chatting to a few guys down there and spent more time laughing about how poor the fishing was.... so i decided to do the noblest of actions and admit defeat. told the missus would be another 5mins then id pack up.. so i put one last strip of mackeral over the side about 3 inches out and left it, about 10 seconds after this my rod tip made a b-line over the side, i lifted into it and felt a rather large tug which promptly took me under the pier, i climbed over the fence and tried tom drag it out but rod was locked, fish had tangled me around the base supports, the guy i been chatting to suggested leaving it slack for fish to make its own way out but nothing so just snapped it!! major disappointment!!! took her home and went back down for more action, ended up bagging 2 bass about 2lb ish within the next 4hours.... sorry about the essay lads  so the bass are definatley there, so ill be hitting it hard this weekend with plenty of mackeral.... p.s. there are lots of reports of mackeral coming out from town quay during the day.... has anyone seen this??? anyways, tight lines all Chris..     |

| Re: Town Quay friday night 05/08/11 Nice one chris ! , the turn up of the mackeral are a sure fire sign the bass will now be there feeding now  , live pout is the way to go down there or mackeral head and guts , you will be surprised how 2 lb bass will swallow a whole pout  last year we had bass up to 9 1/2 lb the year before up to 11 lb , read some of my reports from down there and you will see the quality of fish up for grabs  __________________ If Everyday things are getting you down & stressing you out, Think like a Dog, If it cant be Eaten or Humped, Piss on it and walk away.. |
