ESAA wed league Branscombe 3/8/11

last night was the august leg of the wednesday league
and a massive evening tide so branscombe was the chosen venue
after a few days of calm, there was a hope of maybe a hound, also possibly a float out for a garfish

well how wrong could we be
got there with darkening skies and threat of rain, wind had gone straight southerly and water was dirty and weedy





but being a comp lets give it a go

rich was looking and feeling decidedly under the weather, and this wasnt helping his fishing
of the 6 of us there 5 were blanking, paul managed a mackeral and later a tub gurnard

the sea dump steadily increased and soon rich and shane decided this was silly and headed home..think they had right idea

then the mist came in which turned into rain then big steady rain and my smock i soon discovered has lost its waterproofing

but we fished on till just before 11 when paul caught the cutest huss ever



come the weigh in only paul had caught therefore an easy winner

slow drive home in torrential rain and low cloud

next month staying local at rodney bay, unless weed changes venue

god i need a good fish session this year somehow

Unlucky mate, The fish have gone from this coast by the looks of it, Went to teignmouth last night and caught nothing, not a bite and speaking to others down there its the same for them as well,

Just as shite in the BC at the moment but nevermind as we were catching codling in september last year so hopefully they wont be toooo far away this year.
