slimmer than slim pickings branscombe 23/7

well last night team speckled were at last reunited and with some feisty crab fom exeter angling , and decided branscombe was to be the venue

now fishing in east devon has been not exactly been what you would call hectic lately..infact its really been Sh"te. i just managed to break a 1 month blank in the week, rich is on wk 5 ( not that we are counting) and not for lack of going out either!!

so we get to branscombe and it looks good



so we head slightly left and set up


someone during the day had set up a totem to the fishing gods and so we fished the newly named "Totem Mark"



well i dont know if it was because it had been warm in day or what but soon in the keen NW wind it chilled down badly, even had me going back for shelter to get out of it, felt more like end october

we were both scratching and i was feathering as well, but nothing.rich was low on fags and i suggested slowing down by not having one until he caught, ( but he said he didnt fancy quiting smoking) ...as darkness fell out went the crab baits on 1 other rod went right down to a size 4 scrathing rig ( was staring down the barrel of a blank again)

few small rattles on scratching rig , then cast in stupid close this time it eventually got me the smallest pout ever( blank just saved ) even so the will to live had gone and we packed up at midnight on hightide , rich's doldrums deepen i worked hard just to save blank and the Totem was obviously a warning to the fish to avoid this area!!

so we headed off to exmouth for a kebab, and noticed several young ladies who obviously were unaffected by the cold night air

oh well looks like the rest of the crab will have to be drowned locally in the week. please god let us sneak a fish or 2 out even i'm starting to feel riches pain

Who needs fish ,when theres a keeeeeeeeeeebab in the day , fishing is pretty pants over here too,not that you can fish anywhere ,because of the wind.

I recon the totum ( which resmbles a mixed kebab on a skewer),was a mystical sign post to the shop .

just had a kebab for lunch - straight from the fridge
Unlucky on the session lads , perhaps you will need to get down here and onto Town Quay
