| endurance test sat Browndown Thought wrongly sat that the small tide would keep the weed at bay. After 4 hours of pain pulling in weed balls with rocks attatched got to the point of pack up and go home. Then almost miracle like it vanished. Small thornback was swiftly followed by decent starry, then bass started hitting at worm baits.Followed by more thornbacks as tide ebbed away. Panic over !! |

| Re: endurance test sat Browndown the smaller tides mean the weed isnt being forced out the solent and just sits there instead .. you need the first couple of hours of the flood or the ebb to get rid of the crappy stuff and then its painless either side of high and a little longer over low as there is less water=less weed .. nice bag of species you managed tho ,which goes to prove it's sometimes worth sticking it out ![]() Did the thornies come on crab meant for smutts ? __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
