| selsy west beach tonite Looks like the weather is going to settle down for tonight so am heading over to selsy in the hunt for the hounds. Im currently sat on the jetty on the eastern road, crab net in the water so hopefully il have a nice choice of hard backs to take with me. Ive always fished with peelers for smuts but i know they like hard backs aswell so it should be a good test tonight, altho im not entirely sure how to bait up a hard back but im sure il work it out lol. is anyone else heading over that way tonight? | Re: selsy west beach tonite Lol well acording to acuweather on my phone the wind is going to drop down to about 20kph from south/south west and its going to be dry from around 8ma rite thru the nite. I always get down there at low tide and try for a bass or two. If your down tjere il be the fat git in the floatation suite lol |

| Re: selsy west beach tonite Well the rain did stop and the wind did die down but the weed was there with avengence!!! Only had 3 casts with an hour between each but no sooner had my sinker hit the water my line was caked in weed!!!! Needless to say i packed up way before high tide and came home. Its a shame, i had high hopes for tonight. Hey-ho cant win em all eh. Mark |

| Re: selsy west beach tonite shame to hear you got weeded out mark, as to hardbacks yes they work , i was catching on them last night albeit only a couple of smallies,between the weed at another venue. i hook larger ones as described by s & m but remove legs from only one side & bind remaining legs to snood or top pennel hook. small crabs ( about 20p size i just kebab 3-4 up the shank of a varavas bm or simalar type hook. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |
