North Pier Newlyn Just an update following my request for information about fishing from North Pier Newlyn. Yes you can fish from the pier, there is a sign that asks people to get a permit from the office but the local fioshing shop says dont bother? I fished it from 2hrs before HT to 2 hrs after, blanked but saw a great sunrise over St Michaels Mount, found lots of possible places around Mousehole I also investigated Perranuthnoe beach while there and will try it next time. I intend to break my blank this year!!! ![]()

Perranuthnoe is a great little beach for bass . im surprised at Newlyn not throwing anything up , even a mackerel or pollack ! thanks for the extra info - it might save me coughing up next time i'm down ![]() __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting

Re: North Pier Newlyn Bad luck on your blank. Lamorna Cove might also have been worth a try. I use to take a lot of Pollack from there with my old man when I was a kid. I was brought up a mile away from Perranuthnoe but it was never a favourite of my old mans for fishing so I cant really advise on how it fishes although I know it has a reputation amongst the seasoned anglers for bass if you are patient. I spent three consequitive dawns and dusks last summer spinning the entire length of the beach using a dexter wedge and blanked but it's a great little beach to be up to your knees in water flicking out a lure. Plenty of free locals baits available too in the form of launce, and limpet and peelers from the rock pools to the East. __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad.
