Re: Bass Hunt on friday morning.

Hi, I have been to my chosen location and where waders have sought out all the gullies and reefs. There was loads of shrimps, shore crabs, edible crabs, gobies wrasse and like. I have a week load of shelled limpets, that really stink. In my live tanks, i have twelve crabs that have started to peel and sixty-eight more that should be set for the end of the month. I will start of ledgering just before dawn then do some plugging hour before high then ledger for one hour over the high.

Re: Bass Hunt on friday morning.

Your sort of right, but we have a good spell of weather ie air pressure and we are having a decent tide on friday. They will be there hopefully i'll hook into some..

Re: Bass Hunt on friday morning. RESULTS!

Hi Guys, thought i would post results from Bass trip friday morning.
Arrived at low tide (0.07m) at around midnight, set up base camp..lol. Set up two rods, one 12ft beachcaster with penn 525 and a 12ft daiwa carp rod with shimano superbaitrunner 10000xte. Sorted the bait out-which was half pound of ragworm, twelve peeler crabs, four squid, one pound of stinky limpets. Didn't take any mackie although its always one of the best sea baits to use. Put the stove on for about half twelve, baited up the carp rod and waded out into the water casted a cocktail of limpet and peeler approx 25yrds, wedged rod in ground set clutch and engaged the baitrunner, stumbled back to base for a coff. Within ten minutes, had first schoolie on, little tweak ffrom the baitrunner then nothing. Picked up the rod, then had a small run, whizzed very shortly then stopped. Dis-engaged baitrunner and brought up the slack, little bugger was swimming towards me. Felt the knocks, struck then he was in about half a pound.

Pretty much how it went for an hour, 6 bass in total. Nothing of any decent size, but bass is bass. Fished beachcaster as tide was now flooding in quicker, running ledger with 3oz lead and 3/0 short aberdeen. No big casts needed, had first dogfish on cocktail of squid and limpet, followed by four more within a hour. Moved base back with tide at around 4am, carried on for another hour. Wind increased, light moved in, bass hunt all done and dusted by 6am. At home for a bacon sarnie by 7am...

Total Catch: 6 Bass
5 Doggies
3 Pout

Cheers Guys......
