| Portland harbour 28th May On Saturday evening i decided to give the Champions League final the miss and went in search of some Bass in Portland Harbour. After recent successes with Portland Pirate, earlier in the week I was feeling confident of catching some more schoolies. I picked up some excellent fresh lug from Chesil Bait & Tackle in Wyke and headed for Ferrybridge, after an hour with no bites i decided to move to find more shelter as the wind was really picking up. As the tide was dropping i went round to Sandsfoot and within 10 mins i was getting bites. I re baited with Lug on a 2 hook flapper rig and cast out and this time I was abit more patient and resulted in this lovely little fella!! my first ever flattie from the shore!  Not the bass i was hoping for, but still another species for me. __________________ Cheers CC, 2012 Species - 9     |

Had a good number of species in already that I would normally struggle on and we haven't really even touched on our bankers yet.
