that was tiring

just returned from a busy day on the eastern arm
got there at around 0800 just before LW , the sun was out and it was lovely,

i had a sort of plan to get myself a few species,i had a bucket of peeler , fresh rag,sandeel and some sabiki feathers to try for some launce

intended to scratch around down the wall to start with but it was alive with pout and wrasse , got fed up with that quickly,

bites were coming quickly on all baits with dogfish finding my ragworm particularly nice
mid morning i had a more violent take which resulted in a nice bass of 3lb 4oz,

followed quickly by another enormous take,i thought it was another bass but this was a small starry smoothound

it was then back to the usual doggie bash,
i took regular breaks from this to feather for mackies,float fish for gars and feather for launce,it was on these small feathers that i had my next species,
a little herring turned up ,i had been warned at the tackle shop that i might get one on these feathers but i was still surprised

as seems to be the case it got rather quiet around HW so i made my way home,
a thoroughly enjoyable day,with some species points but dont them doggies make it hard work sometimes

Nice one Paul. Good variety of species there and a nice Bass.
Were the peeler’s worth splashing out for or were they dogfish food?

Nice fishing Paul ,good few species there, it`s a bit soul destroying when the dogs devour crab baits ,gets to be an expensive day out.
