Dovers Eastern Arm 16th May 11

Decided to have one last session down the arm before I have to go back to work for two weeks.
I arrived an hour after high water so there was a good tide running, the wind was South Westerly about 20kts maybe a bit more.

I set up 2 beach casters with 7oz leads one with a pulley pennel with sandeel and the other with a 1/0 2hook flapper with ragworm. I just pulled out dogfish after dogfish on those rods. I was also sheriff for the day, as Paul would say.

When the tide died down a bit I dropped a line down the wall with size 2 hooks baited with ragworm. Had a couple of ballen and a goldsinny wrasse. I had a few little pouting as well.

I tried flicking the dexter wedge about but diddnt have any luck with that so tried using one of the little pouting as live bait on the bass rod.
I lasted about 3 hours befor the wind and dogfish got the better of me.

While I was fishing a couple of the DHB workers stopped to see what was being caught. They said thay had loads of bass last year there. They said it was unusual for the mackerel to show up down there and that they had never heard of anyone catching a ray down there. They said they were both keen fisherman and fished there alot mainly at night though.
