Cool New mystery species

Fished at Lyme Regis Monday trolling tiny feathers hoping for herring. Noticed a little nod on the rod so I realed in to see what looked like two small eels on the lures. On closer inspection they looked more like large sand eels. Unfortunately they also had very soft lips and fell off back into the sea. Do sand eels grow to 10 to 12 inches.

Sam.

Re: New mystery species

I've had a few of them on small red gill eels down here, use them for bait when bassing off the beach

Re: New mystery species

They are a very good Bass bait , in Kent we catch them on the banks and then use them as livebait over the wrecks on the way home the only problem is the jumbo Pouting like them as well.
And yes we catch them on small feathers or Sabaskis.
