| First fishing trip for nearly 2 years... ...since I fished Dungie with Pingu and FishyPaul. Fishing Samphire Hoe in Kent with a mate tomorrow. It's a tackle heavy mark but I'm taking a carp rod with float gear in the hope I'll nab a bass or mackeral on light gear. Rotten bottoms at the ready for the other rod  Paul might pop down at some point so should be a good day. Factor 25 and cap packed as it look like a hot one! I'll take a few snaps and do a report if it's a successful sortie      |

| Re: First fishing trip for nearly 2 years... Good luck at the hoe tomorrow. I like fishing there, it can be a bit slow at times. Hopefuly it would have picked up with the warm weather. When I fish there I use pebbles as weights as holding the bottom is not a problem, the rocks make sure of that. The folkestone end is meant to be the rockiest but Its the same all the way along if you ask me. There is a good supply of pebbles off the beach at the folkestone end but its along way back to the cafe and toilets. I will look forward to reading your report. All the best. | Re: First fishing trip for nearly 2 years... Well, not much to say really as the bottom fishing was dead all day, no pics either. I lost 3 weights and 2 rigs. I also tried some float fishing but to no avail. I gave in an hour before HT and got the feathers out and managed to get 7 good sized mackies while the 2 fellas I was with blanked. It was nice to see Fishypaul who popped down with Mini Me, we'll get out soon mate |
